So my last post was in February? Really? That long ago?
I guess I've taken time for granted. I'd think every week- 'I must post something new on my "blog" ', and procrastination having gotten the better of me, I'd put it off for the following week.
So here I am many months later, surprised that my blog's not been forcefully shut down due to dormancy! And to show my appreciation, I thought the least I could do was actually blog about something! But the problem is that I've forgotten why I started this blog in the first place. I'm a lousy writer and I can't pen down a decent flow of thoughts to save my life! And I bet barely anyone will even notice this post! (That actually might be a good thing having realised writing isn't exactly something I'm savvy with.)
If anything feels similar from when I last posted, it's probably the weather. (In spite of the seasons itself changing) After the big freeze last year, you would have thought we deserved a fair summer. I barely remember two weeks of warm summer days! Let's not even get started on the rains! That's one thing I will never miss! I will however miss autumn- my favourite season perhaps. The fiery display of colours, almost like a dusky spring- just pure genius.
As the seasons changed, I think people have too. People I thought I knew, turned out to be complete strangers and the some I was judgemental about, pleasantly surprised me. I guess that's not really unusual, but when it actually happens to you, you somehow didn't see it coming.
I think I've changed too, for better or for worse. Well for one, over the year I discovered that baking is my passion. And for the first time ever, I know where I want to take my life. I've got to say, it's a pretty good feeling! I don't completely know how I'll get there; but I do know that anything is possible. And as much as I want to run a business and live a busy and successful life, I've also realised that I actually want to be married and have children- something I would have laughed at the thought of 4 years ago! I don't quite know how I'm going to manage all of that without compromising something (I don't see why I should), but don't be surprised if you see me on the cover of a magazine as the woman who managed it all! (More like 'Spoke too much, too soon perhaps?!')
Travelling is another thing that I've gotten addicted to. I don't think anything could give me a greater high. It's a drug I tell you! And the kind of things you learn and realise just from going places, meeting new people and seeing new things is incredible. If I had it my way, I'd just bake and travel my whole life! Not sure how that would work out practically though!
And now, I'm less than 2 months away from shifting base to a new place. It's not entirely new, but I've never really lived in Chennai before in spite of it being my home town. So I guess it is a new place. I couldn't agree more in saying that change is important. At the same time it's difficult letting go of familiarity and comfort. Then I think, if I did it 3 years ago, how different can this be? Although it's meant to be a rhetorical question, it doesn't feel like one. Perhaps 3 years ago I was different; things were different. And just like seasons, we change all the time, but we don't really know it. Or maybe we don't want to admit it.
Never the less, I am looking forward to being back in my country. How long the feeling would last, I don't know. But time passes and life goes on, and before I'd know it, the change would have become my comfort and I wouldn't want it any other way.

I think you write quite well.. maybe not for an author but penning down thoughts is definitely not your problem. As for change, everyone changes and has changed. I've changed, iky has changed, megha has changed we may not realize it but so many years does indeed change a person, but whatever it is i'm sure u've changed for the better.
You're extremely fortunate and lucky, you have found a passion in you and a direction in life. I've always imagined what it'd be like when your work is your passion.. but it has always alluded me. You have an opportunity in a million. Very few people actually get this opportunity, I hope you can make it work. All the best with that!
And I want some free treats! ;) :D
And its good you are coming back.. when I'm in south India next we'll meet up and have a gala time!
A new chapter is starting Shil, start on a positive note! Do well! All the best! :)
Tc..
Anew chapter now :)
All the best Pandian and do continue writing...
